FSCNY/CCANY VENDORS SHOW -- May 15, 2001
 

Posh, new surroundings in a revitalized part of downtown Brooklyn greeted over 200 check casher owners and employees, vendors, associates and others interested in this vibrant industry, at the 9th annual vendors show.  Having outgrown the facility that housed the event the past several years, The Marriott Brooklyn hosted a much larger exhibition space and accommodated breakout sessions and the ever-traditional scholarship luncheon that feted deserving New York City public high school seniors.  The scholarship largesse -- underwritten by CCANY and Travelers Express/MoneyGram -- was the biggest ever in the six years of the competition, including a first-time ever $7,500 grant for the freshman year of college study.

This montage of photos depicts all aspects of the May 15th event. Suffice it to say, plans are already afoot to make the 10th gathering even better, according to Bill Siegel, who chaired the function.
